band di chicago, capitanata da billy corgan, che raggiunge il successo a metà anni '90, in particolare con il doppio album "mellon collie and the infinite sadness" del 1995. il migliore per me però è "siamese twins", disco dell'anno 1993. dissidi interni al gruppo portano alla fine prematura del gruppo. reunion di buon livello l'anno scorso.

...il Boss ci deve essere, no? e mi dispiace, Simona, ma magari "the river" sarà un pò più in là in classifica: per me il meglio è il debutto del 1973. Quando John Hammond della Columbia, lo scopritore di Dylan, fu quasi costretto a fargli una audizione nel 1972, al termine scrisse sulla scatola che conteneva la bobina: "il più grande talento del decennio".

...beh, "is this it" è il disco dell'anno 2001. quando li ho sentiti alla radio per la prima volta, ho pensato, ma chi sono, i nuovi velvet? (velvet underground, che avete capito?!). qui posto uno dei pezzi migliori dell'album, ma il livello è tutto altissimo... compratelo!

Grandissimi Strokes! Molto Velvet Underground, verissimo! Senti Indie, un posticino nella Hall of Fame per i Red Hot Chili Peppers? Troppo commerciali? Californication è la colonna sonora dei miei viaggi reali o virtuali tra le curve della Pacific Coast Highway o negli interminabili saliscendi del deserto del Mojave!

@parisian cowboy: yeah, tea's fair enough for rehab. blood on the tracks too, in fact, you're a big girl now is one of my favorite tracks by dylan. london calling is one of those records that deserve to be played at least once a week... from tucker max's biography on the back of the book cover: "i am an asshole, i get excessively drunk at inappropriate times, diregard social norms, ignore the consequences of my actions, sleep with more women that is safe or reasonable, and just generally act like a raging dickhead". fun, isn't it?

by the way, i can't read your posts, but i choose to comment on this one because of the wonderful "greetings from asbury park" cover from bruce springsteen. that better be a good review of his album. i grew up very close to asbury (same county) and i seriously adore bruce.
in fact when i was home a few weeks ago, i drove by bruce springsteen's house...
